Babyplast is designed for micro and small part injection molding applications where precision, repeatability, material savings, cycle time and automation capability are important. The Babyplast range includes 60 kN / 6 ton and 100 kN / 10 ton clamping force models for different micro molding and small precision part production requirements.

Key advantages include compact machine design, lower material wastage, fast mold set-up, low energy consumption of approximately 3 kW, suitability for very small shot applications and support for prototyping, pilot runs and precision mass production.

Babyplast uses a small piston and double plunger plasticization and injection system designed for precise and stable processing of very small shot volumes. This system is suitable for micro molding applications where accurate dosing, repeatability and material control are critical.

The Babyplast piston and double plunger system supports the molding of very small components, including applications with shot weights below 0.1 g. This makes it suitable for medical micro parts, electronic components, precision engineering parts and other high-value small plastic components.

The system is designed to minimize material residence time, helping to reduce the risk of material degradation during processing. It also reduces shear friction on the material compared with conventional screw-based plasticization systems, making Babyplast suitable for selected shear-sensitive materials, high-performance engineering plastics and specialty materials.

With the suitable Babyplast LSR configuration, dosing system and mold design, Babyplast can also support LSR micro injection molding applications. This is especially useful for medical, healthcare and precision applications requiring small LSR components, soft-touch parts, seals, gaskets, membranes and overmolded components.

For many plastic material changeover applications, the Babyplast piston and plunger system can help reduce downtime compared with conventional screw-type machines that may require more complex material purging, screw cleaning or screw changes for certain materials and processing conditions. This can help reduce maintenance complexity and improve production flexibility. Final suitability depends on the specific material, shot weight and molding requirement.

Babyplast micro injection molding machines can be used for a wide range of small, precise and high-value molded components. Its compact machine size and small mold concept also make it suitable for technical training, education, process development and 3D printed mold trials.

Babyplast can support different molding processes, including insert molding, overmolding, multi-component molding, LSR micro molding, rubber molding, MIM metal injection molding and CIM ceramic injection molding. With the correct machine configuration, dosing system and mold design, Babyplast can also support LSR applications for small medical, sealing, membrane and soft-touch components.

Babyplast machines can process many standard thermoplastic, engineering and specialty materials, including ABS, PP, PA, POM, PC, PBT, PPS, PEEK, PEI, TPE, TPU and other high-performance materials.

For specialty applications, Babyplast can also process selected LSR liquid silicone rubber, NBR rubber, Macromelt hotmelt materials, waxes, MIM feedstock and CIM feedstock. Selected bio-grade, biocomposite, bio-based and biodegradable materials may also be processed, depending on material properties, mold design and processing requirements.

With material processing capability up to approximately 420°C, Babyplast is suitable for standard plastic molding as well as demanding engineering and specialty material applications.
